I recently had the opportunity to, at last, play with my own custom-made Viattorre cue. It hasn't even been two weeks and I feel as if I've known this cue and played with it for a long time. Two things greatly affect any cue's playability, power and precision. That's why we see so many improvements constantly being made by manufacturers to improve performance. All of these greatly improve the way we play, were it not for the constant vigil of our cue makers on quality, we may as well be playing with the same type of cues our grandfathers used. But thanks to them and their genuine love for the sport we are blessed with boundless choices to fit our playing styles.
My recently acquired Viattorre which i fondly call the "Red Katana" is really starting to impress me even more each passing day. It delivers a nice, reliable hit every time. Even the length is advantageous, the additional inch pays off when you get into those tricky situations wherein you have to stretch out on the table. The nicely tapered stiff shaft gives the cue a distinct advantage when playing those off-angled shots. It's brass wood to wood joint system is something I've come to appreciate and understand now, more than ever. Very high quality, superb playability. It's worth the wait, I like it, and I'm keeping it.
