Good things come to those who wait. By Dean Alvarez Date: Sun, Jan 2 @ 01:28:20 CST Topic: Customer Testimonials
First off, let me just say that Viattorre did an awesome job on my plain Jane bocote cue. The work-in-progress pictures that Jack had been posting in his web site simply did not do the cue justice. First word that came out of my mouth when I saw the cue in person was “WOW”! The cue came out so much better than I expected! The bocote piece Jack used for my cue is superb. It has excellent grain pattern and natural color, which is really what I’m after. I requested my handle to be curly maple with wild swirls and natural finish, and that is exactly what I got.
As far as the cue’s construction, I cannot find anything negative to say. Viattorre’s craftsmanship is truly world class. They built one heck of a solid cue for me! It does not produce any buzzing whatsoever when I tap its forearm with the base of my palm. It rolls perfectly straight on my table. And the high gloss finish is something I’ve never seen on any cue before. Jack told me that he did not use a metal screw to join the forearm and the handle. Only a small weight bolt was placed in the butt to meet my maximum weight spec of 19 oz. This explains the cue’s perfect weight distribution throughout its length – excellent balance!
Overall, if I was to rate Viattorre’s job on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give them a 9. Withholding the 1 point for the long 8 months I had to wait for my cue. But I can’t even blame them for that, because I know how busy they really are. Not to mention Jack’s daughter also being ill. Thank God she’s ok now. Nevertheless, good things come to those who wait.
Thanks Jack for the awesome cue and also for being so accommodating. God bless!
